Project Overview
East of the River Smart Haven Initiative™
A Baccous Smart Infrastructure Program
The East of the River Smart Haven Initiative™ is a multi-year modernization effort designed to bring micro-edge building intelligence, AI-driven safety systems, and predictive maintenance technology to small residential properties across Wards 7 and 8.
This program introduces a scalable model for:
safer multifamily buildings
real-time compliance
modern contractor oversight
reduced operational emergencies
neighborhood stability
improved tenant experience
measurable building performance
Beginning with the 2025–2026 pilot at the Randle Highlands Smart Haven, the initiative will expand to additional buildings, integrate government-aligned safety dashboards, and support DC’s long-term goals around modernization, housing quality, and community resilience.
